Action Phase

Getting "Mecatol Rex" back this turn is not likely. However, Steve can probably take 1 planet away from Nicholas.

Steve activates the "Saudor" system.

Steve's Fleet Limit is currently 4. He cannot move all of his warships into the activated system. Nicholas enters the system with 2 Dreadnoughts, and the Carrier with 1 Ground Force and he enters with 1 Cruiser from the other adjacent system.

This time Steve is the attacker and Nicholas is the defender. Another difference between this battle and the earlier one is that there are Ground Forces involved and a PDS. Steve has a PDS in the adjacent system planet "Quann". With his "Deep Space Cannon" technology, Steve is able to attack the Dreadnought in the "Saudor" system.

Once again the players review their Action Cards. They each evaluate if there is a card they will play.

Steve has the following Action Cards
Card Description
Direct Hit! Destroy 1 damaged Dreadnought or War Sun. Nicholas does not realize that Steve had 2 of these and still has one left.
Rare Mineral You get 3 free trade Goods when you successfully invade a neutral planet.
Sabotage Cancel any other action card (can't be used against another Sabotage)
Skilled Retreat Choose 1 of your fleets that is in a space battle, put a Command Counter from supply in an adjacent system and move your fleet there. This is the Action Card Steve wanted to use before, on "Mecatol Rex".
Strategic Bombardment Not applicable in this battle since Steve has no War Sun.

Nicholas has the following Action Cards

Direct Hit! Destroy 1 damaged Dreadnought or War Sun. This is the Action Card Nicholas stole from Steve.
Dug In Choose a planet. Your ground forces there are immune to bombardment this round.
In the Silence of Space Not applicable in this battle.
Ruinous Tariffs Not applicable in this battle.
Sabotage Cancel any other action card (can't be used against another Sabotage).
Spacedock Accident Not applicable in this battle.

The official FAQ/Errata document published by Fantasy Flight Games adds the following comment to the "Direct Hit!" Action Card:
Play immediately after the ship has been damaged in a Space Battle in which you participate.

Proceed to the next step in this Space Battle.
